Cowspiracy

The secret has been out for a while now: animal agriculture is a huge part of the climate crisis. Filmmakers Kip Anderson and Keegan Kuhn expose the truth about its incredibly devastating effects.

Okja

Okay, you got us–this isn’t a documentary. It does, however, have a strong, accessible vegan message. The popular film, directed by Bong Joon-ho and starring Tilda Swinton and Jake Gyllenhaal, depicts the relationship between a girl and her best friend, a “super pig” named Okja. This adorable tear-jerker will get you thinking about the arbitrary line we draw between companion animals and animals farmed for food.

Game Changers

A UFC fighter discovers an elite group of athletes who prove everything he’d been taught about protein was a lie. This documentary turns sport on its head, showing that a wholesome, healthy, plant-based diet really is the way to go. Even for professional athletes.

What the Health

The creators of Cowspiracy teamed up again–but this time they’re not exploring the environmental effects of animal agriculture, but the effects the standard, meat-laden diet has on Americans’ health. Furthermore, the film questions the pharmaceutical industry and just what the healthcare industry has to gain from keeping us sick.

Forks Over Knives

If you need some healthy eating inspiration, this flick is for you. It presents hard-hitting facts about America’s leading killers — heart disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes — and how food is the cause and the cure. Notable doctor Caldwell Esselstyn and researcher T. Colin Campbell are the stars of this film, along with a few folks who turn their health around on a whole-foods, plant-based diet.

Blackfish

This moving documentary addresses the treatment of orcas held in captivity at SeaWorld–specifically the whale Tilikum who spent most of his life in an unsuitable tank after being captured from the ocean. This heart-wrenching film sparked outrage in many animal lovers, prompting huge boycotts of SeaWorld, creating a wave of change for orcas, and bringing to the surface a dialogue about animals wrongfully used for entertainment.

  1. I need advice from a law firm on launching a class action suit against NPR for totally blacking out any and ALL issues pertaining to animal agriculture, diet and disease, viruses and animals , environmental catastrophe and animal ag

As an aggressive contactor of NPR’s Agriculture correspondent, Health , environmental and other journalists touting to tell all sides of issues, for DOZEN YEARS NPR has NEVER interviewed anyone from the animal law community, based food movement, plant based doctors, athletes, entrepreneurs or chefs.

They repeat daily how informative they are and balanced while NEVER telling the side of issues that are where most problems arise. Animal issues are taboo, blacked out, closeted while they tell us how fair and balanced they are!!!

This is FALSE, misleading, lying by omission and they must be challenged in court.

  2. I can not watch those documentaries about factory farming (nothing farm like about them really) or cruelty to animals. I have not eaten meat for over 44 years and been vegan for over 20 so no convincing needed here. If I had known 44 years ago what I later learned I would have become vegan sooner. There was not much out there at that time though and the important thing is that I got to the right place.
